Weekend Recap

Friday my sweet friend from Oklahoma, Lara, came to visit! Sadly, we didn't get any pictures to document our night. Natalie, Lara, and I enjoyed dinner on the patio at Bonefish followed by seeing The Last Song.

Saturday morning, I headed to Fayetteville for the weekend! I have missed that town! Here is a pic from my favorite red-light on campus. Makes me anxious for fall to hurry up. Well not just yet, I want to enjoy the rest of spring and summer as much as I can. Time flies, but I am ready for Razorback football games.
Once I got to Fayetteville, I met Ashley and Chelsea for Pedicures! It was so nice to relax and catch up with my friends. Then I headed to Pratt Place Inn for Rachel's Lingerie shower! She is getting married in TWO weeks!
Sweet Bride-to-be! And her fabulous cake from Rick's!
Showin' her Bling before her final Fling night!
Loved our room at Pratt Place! Definitely a great NWA venue for indoor/outdoor events!
Time for Presents : )
The Girls; Such a fun group!
All of us.

Oh Jess...Love this!
After the shower, we headed to Wasabi for dinner then out for the night! Bachelorette Cards were involved. The best is "get a guy to donate 10$ for the Bachelorette party funds" and we did. Ha
"Kiss a bald man's head" He just happened to have gotten engaged 2 days before AND he is getting married in Little Rock. How ironic. lol
Quick Pose.
So the Scenario was "act like your about to fight" and this was it.
Silly "fighters:" Amanda, Rachel, Me.
True "Fighters:" Morgan, Becca, Jessica

Happy Bachelorette Party Miss Bride-To-Be! Let the two-week countdown begin! See you in two weeks! Love ya!

Need a favor.

For just a second.
Pause what you're doing.
Whether you are in line somewhere on google reader, or in the comfort of your home.
Stop-
And say Thank you for all the service men and women who are serving for you and me.

Say a prayer and Thank God for them. They leave their families for weeks, months, and even a year so that you and me can be at home safe with our families. Pray for strength and guidance for each of them as they finish their call of service overseas. Pray for their spouses and children; patience and strength, comfort and peace. Say Thank you for technology, skype and phone service so they can stay in touch with loved ones and share a hug/kiss through the computer.

Pray for a safe return so they can be reunited with their families.

And remember there are thousands out there just like our friend Nate that are proudly serving America! Thank you for what you do. We all love and miss you.
(Carly- stole these from your fb, thanks : ) )

Play Day

Today was a play day in Little Rock with Carly and Landon! After a meeting this morning, they picked me up and we headed to one of our favorite places, Loca Luna for lunch.
It was very yummy as usual! While we were there, we decided our next stop would be getting Landon a haircut! We went to kid-friendly Pigtails & Crew Cuts and Landon got to ride in the airplane! Where were these when I was a kid? Then, we trained this sweet boy to shop for the next hour or so. Luckily he is fond of his stroller. We were shopping for him too. For an 18-month old (who looks like he is 3) and a 30 minute nap in the car, he did wonderful all day. After shopping around Pleasant Ridge we went to the Heights area to Walk/Talk/& Shop! It was a gorgeous day in Little Rock and I probably could have been in shorts. Hallelujah summer is upon us! Carly hasn't been to Zaza's yet since they just opened since her last visit, so we stopped in for GELATO!
We were able to sit on the patio which was perfect! Landon didn't know what to think of the berry gelato. I wish we had a video camera out for his first taste. He. Did. Not. Like. It. But then....
He couldn't get enough of it. Even grabbed the other spoon and was switching bites. It was hilarious. He also said "Aunt Shawna" while we were here!!!!!! Yes, mission accomplished. He does know who I am. : ) He would say it then just laugh! So much fun. Then we had a pit stop at a few places in Maumelle and the Young household where we played a little. Found Aunt Aimee's Elmo upstairs, which was about 3' just like Landon! He was hugging Elmo but it looked more like tackle.
Then it was time to rock a little bit! Isn't he just precious!!! I am so ready for them to come live closer (& keeping my fingers crossed for something in the next few years!) Love him!
And this. Well his dad and my sister both went to Mississippi State, so this was for their benefit since neither one were here. Landon truly is a little razorback!
We just had a blast playing around Little Rock today. I was so glad I got to spend the day with these two friends/family members! Love you both!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday. At one point today, I had to stop and think about what day today actually was. Sad- I know. Have a wonderful night!

Lunch Date

Sunday I got to have lunch with three of my favorite people!!!! It has been way too long since I had seen them. Carly who is like my second older sister to me and her son Landon are in town! He is basically like my nephew : )
They live in Virgina but are here visiting while Nate is deployed. They just found out he gets to come back a month earlier (May)! So excited for them! Since they were in town, we had to go to U.S. Pizza! Growing up, our families went there at least once a week after Aimee and Carly had basketball practice 4-6 grades and then every year after, U.S. Pizza was always involved in get-togethers (Unless Mrs. Barbara was cooking for us!) Well little Landon wasn't too fond of the bread sticks and marinara sauce, but he did enjoy the lays chips and dipping them in ranch. So cute.

I haven't seen him since he was just a few months old, but he is just as sweet now! And he is one busy boy! Love him!
Again.. trying to get his attention!

Mrs. Barbara (Carly's Mom) came down from Fayetteville for a few days, so I got to see her too! Here is "GiGi" with her favorite boy! This pic cracks me up! She is saying "Look" Landon! haha Love this one! Landon was ready to roam and find the toy machine! Barb's face is priceless!
LOVE them and can't wait to spend tomorrow playing around town with Carly and Landon!!! We are going to have so much fun! (But we will miss you Aimee, Mona, Barbara, & Nate!)

Sweet Baby!

Saturday I was able to meet a very sweet baby boy for the first time, Mr. Miles Wilson! We have known the Wilson's ever since my family moved to Maumelle when I was 2. Abby and I have played soccer together since we were five. Her brother, Hunter and his wife Emily just had their first baby in December. Saturday evening I headed over to Abby and Justin's for a cook-out and to meet their nephew! Sadly, I forgot to get any cute pictures of us; but here's a look at sweet Miles!
We had so much fun catching up and playing with this little man! : )

Tim McGraw/ Lady Antebellum L.I.V.E.

If you read Friday's Post then you know that I was SOOOO excited about the Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum concert in Little Rock. So how was it???

One Word? No words can describe how much fun this night was. Still in shock/disbelief because it was just that great. The reason it was so great was probably because we had the best seats in the house (sorry but yes I am bragging for one second. Please forgive me!) We were on the floor row 17, in the middle- if you were there.

However if you couldn't go to the concert, do not fear- you can pretend you were there through this post. After dinner, Natalie, Jessica, and I headed to the concert. Mallory met us after she finished work. Here we are, once we made it to our seats!

The Lost Trailers opened up with a few songs to get the crowd pumped up! They stayed up on the larger part of the stage so I didn't get that good of a picture. I'll make it up to you, keep reading.
Then Lady Antebellum hit the stage. Heart. Love them and all of their songs. They are a wonderful group, and put on a great show!
Towards the end of their set, the lead singer made his way down the aisle-stage to us!! You would of thought we were in Jr. High again after he grabbed our hands! So much fun! ha (feel free to make fun-just leave a comment if you do, so everyone else can laugh too)
Such a cutie.
Then all three of them sang "I run to you" right in front of us! I love this song! This pic is from my iPhone; which was a trusty gadget till it died half-way through Tim. (My fault, I know.)
My favorite part about Lady Antebellum is their voices and how well they harmonize. I really think I could listen to them all day. Check out their CD if you have only heard the songs that play on the radio. They have some great ones that aren't hits yet.
Singing with such emotion.

Just how close were we?
I was about a hand away from grabbing his leg; so we had to get a pretend picture. Don't worry I wasn't really touching him- he was a good 2 inches away ;)
Then. Our main man.
Story time: I have always been a fan of Tim McGraw's songs- know most of them and the words. However, not overly obsessed or anything. Think I have one or two of his Cd's. Never been to his concert, etc. Well- now I am just in awe of him. He did a wonderful job working the stage-was by us more than the front row. Catered to the little kiddo's that came out to the concert. Even pulled 5-10 of them on stage for different songs. You can just tell he is truly a gentleman. So here he is....
Singing "Just to see you smile" he pulled two girls up on stage and even kissed their foreheads and let them sing on the mic. You know they will remember that forever. Then he turned around and I am pretty sure he saw four 22/23 year olds smiling right back at him. We were in awe. Seriously. I know I sound pathetic-but I have to make sure I remember all the details years later when I look back on this post. Ha
He. Loved. Us. Shook our hands tons : ) Don't worry we weren't like "we aren't washing our hand" or anything!
A look at the stage.
The four girls! Had so much fun with yall!!!!

"Live like you were dying"
He even pulled two little boys up during "something like that." They were in jeans, cowboy hats, and white t-shirts that had "bbq sauce" and the words "This is my BBQ stain" on them. He pulled them up while singing this song and even posed so that their mom could get a picture! I'll add the pic from one of my friends asap.
He worked out Friday at NLR-Athletic Club and well folks- He is super fit! This one's for the Ladies.

He played for about 2 hours straight! And we loved every second of it.
Then the four of us hit downtown because we couldn't turn in for the night after that! Now I am pretty certain he has four more "biggest" fans!
