Abby's Graduation Party

Saturday afternoon/evening we celebrated Abby's graduation from UAMS!!!! We are all so proud of her. And she started in the working world Monday after graduation, so that is even better. Her Mom and Sister-in-law, Emily, threw her a party Saturday. It was so much fun visiting with friends new and old. Her parents had a cookout for us then we went and played Wiffle Ball! (My new obsession) It was so much fun! We played for almost 2 hours down by the Arkansas River in Maumelle and had a blast. We probably would've played longer but it was pitch-black dark when we called it quits. Stole these two pictures from Abby! She's the one in the graduation hat/gown. We have grown up together here in Maumelle. It still feels weird for us not to be out on a soccer field somewhere as "Whiner" and "Elbows" since we played together from age 5 to senior high school; but hey now we can play as adults (or stick to wiffle ball).

And a candid shot of Rachel and I had to be included!

You HAVE to check this out!!! Trust Me!

Today is an exciting day for SugarSave!!!

The headquarters in Knoxville launched Sugarsave Knoxville today with the first of many deals!
Why am I telling you this?

I recently was named the Metro Director for SugarSave Little Rock! I am so excited about this new online marketing firm that is hitting large cities all across the country. The best part of it: it truly does help everyone out. Businesses, Customers, and the Community. How? A Business is featured in each town for 24 hours (Free On-line marketing for the business through all of the social media outlets), everyone (you and me) has the chance to purchase the amazing deal online- then redeem the deal in the store. The community benefits because the founders of SugarSave believe it is important to give back. 10% of every city's deal (each DAY) goes back into that city's community. A local charity is featured each week in each city and will receive a check from SugarSave!!!!!

We have all been working over the last few months to get this show on the road, so today is exciting for all of the SugarSave employees. Little Rock will be launching in the next few weeks!!! Go ahead and SIGN-UP NOW here, even if you aren't in Little Rock; check to see if your town is featured.

Want a Central Arkansas business to be featured or want a deal from a certain business? Email me at: Shawna.Young@Sugarsave.com for more information. Also, if you represent or have any local favorite charities, email them to me and I will make sure they are featured!!!

Word-of-Mouth is HUGE to get this going; So you can help me out tremendously by becoming a fan on facebook here (and suggesting it to all of your friends) or twitter here!

If you can't tell, I am super pumped about this. And believe in it. If I didn't, I wouldn't be wasting my time on it. Definitely check it out and I will keep all of you posted on the progress here in Little Rock!

Confused and want to see a deal, Check out Knoxville's Deal here.

Also, if you want to be a Sales Rep for the LR area, or another town, email me and I will get you connected with the right people!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the Momma's across the country!

Momma's are special people that do so much for all of us. Their children, their children's friends, the family, and everyone they meet they adore and take care of. All of the hard work they do gets overlooked often, so remember to say 'Thank You' to your Mom (and me to mine) not only today but more often everyday!

One of my favorite songs for Mom's is Boys II Men's: A Song For Mama!

You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I always keep it inside
You're the driving force in my life, yeah

There isn't anything
Or anyone I can be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side

You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
You'll always be you always will be the girl
In my life for all times

[Chorus: ]
Mama, mama you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul

You're always down for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong
Yes you did

And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on

There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you come to me
And say to me I can face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl in my life

[Chorus ]

Thank You for all you do for each and every one of us, Momma! I Love You the Most!

We celebrated Mother's Day for Mom, Leah, and Becky today at lunch. We ate at Copeland's.
Hayley and I waiting for our table. She LOVES this place because she has a crush on one of the waiters. Oh to be 14 again. I was keeping my fingers crossed that he'd be our waiter, sadly he wasn't. She told me I was too old for him, "so don't even think about liking him." Haha

I was the lucky one, sitting between the two gentlemen! My grandfather, Dalty, Me, and Uncle Duane!

Happy Grandmother's Day to Becky!!! (and Meemaw- not pictured) She celebrated with a chocolate martini for dessert! It was well deserved after all she does for us!

After lunch, Mom, Leah, Hayley and I went to Jasmine's for manicures and pedicures!!! So much fun being pampered and spending time with one another!
Then my Daddy fixed us the best dinner!!! Such a wonderful day!
Hope everyone had a blessed day with your Momma's and family!

Hello Monday, you will be here shortly!

Wedding Time

Saturday evening I went to Megan Coy's wedding here in Little Rock. The ceremony was wonderful at Levy Church of Christ and the dessert reception following was held at Next Level Events in Little Rock. Sadly, I missed getting a picture with the Beautiful Bride. But I did get this one with my pretty friends Natalie and Megan! I had so much fun hanging out with these two at the reception. Love you girls!

The Cake!!
It was a gorgeous wedding. I loved the summer colors and the weather this weekend! I really feel like summer is here and couldn't be more excited!!!
Hope Everyone had a wonderful Saturday! Congrats to all of my friends who graduated College on Saturday (Undergrad and Masters Grads)!!! So proud of you friends!

Garage Sale Weekend

Friday and Saturday were a success! AND we got rid of all this junk aka treasures for new owners this weekend. I would call that a successful spring cleaning for the Young's and Whitt's!
We had the garage sale both days from 6am-2pm so you can imagine how exhausted we were when it was over. We did it at my grandparents house in Maumelle.

What was the most of one thing we had for sale? Well... My sweet grandmother cleaned out her "belt" drawer and put out 88 belts that she has bought over the last 50+ years....
My sweet childhood friend, Abby stopped by on Friday. We got a little bored and decided to play "dress-up" like ole' times. Think we have enough belts on!?! Quite the trend setters : )
And you better believe it; all the shoppers LOVED the belts! It is amazing what people buy at these things. The items I would buy, were the ones that we took to GoodWill on Saturday after the sale. The items I think wouldn't sale at all, first ones sold; as always!

Hole-in-ONE

If you have ever played the game of Golf, you know that the best shot you could ever make would be a "Hole-In-One." Well something that you might not know about me is that I have been raised around this game. Beginning at age 6, I went to the Rebsamen Park Golf Course summer camp. I can remember waiting until I was finally old enough to attend this camp- not just drop Aimee off. Then my Mom use to be one of the managers at Country Club of Arkansas when it first opened and we were more involved in the game.

Currently, we are members at Maumelle Country Club. Mom has a group of friends called the "Bogey Babes" and they play golf, have dinner parties, tailgate parties for football games, etc. They have started entering different tournaments in Maumelle/Little Rock area.

Mom is no longer working at the MRI clinic so she is playing more golf. This week her and Mrs. Debbie P. are in a 3-day tournament at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock, along with 11 other Maumelleian's. She was worried last night because she doesn't know if she has ever played 18 holes 3-days straight.

By 10:30am today, She had just hit a HOLE-IN-ONE on Hole #2 at P.V.C.C. She used a 9 iron on the par 3. They started on Hole #16. When they got to #2 the girls were talking about the prize. A Bose Stereo System. The prior par 3 hole, you could win a free set of Nike irons. They decided that would be a better prize. 2 ladies had just hit when Mom went to the tee box. She hit her ball over a little water, it bounced 4 feet from the pin on the green (she was just glad it was on the green), then bounced into the hole. I am sure you could hear those four ladies scream if you were in the Little Rock/PV area around this time. Don't worry, they are okay. Just VERY excited as they should be!!! They ended up shooting a 83 for Day 1 of the tournament! Way to go Mom and Mrs. Debbie!!!
We had Cake and Flowers for my wonderful Mother at my grandparents house. She is the first in the family to get a Hole-In-One. Yes, she beat all the men to it. Wahoo! My sweet grandfather said he had chills when I let him hear her voicemail from this morning. He said most people don't get to see one in a lifetime much less hit one. He was a VERY VERY proud Dad today!!! Congrats Mom! We are super proud of you!!!
{Side note: Wanna know the prize on the next Par 3 they came too? $10,000 to a Jewelry Store. (Would have gone to her 30th Anniversary Present) But don't worry, we have that Bose Stereo System instead!} ha

Rachel & Ben's Wedding

Friday, it was time to head to Fayetteville for Rachel Duncan and Ben Kirksey's wedding weekend. When I arrived in town, I met Amanda, Seanne, Ashley, and Chelsea. We took a field trip to the NWA mall. Mission: Shoes! Talk about timing, with finals for them and school wrapping up, I am still shocked that we were free for a little while to play at the mall. So much fun. Can't wait to see them more this month. Then I went to the rehearsal dinner in Fayetteville. It was a lovely dinner catered by Noodles. One of my favorite Fayetteville restaurants. I had a wonderful time tagging along as the Best Man, Mason's date. It was a wonderful evening surrounded by their families and friends. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures. What was I thinking? No idea. But I made sure to get a few at the Wedding.

Saturday was a wonderful morning playing around town with Chelsea. We treated ourselves to water at Uncle Gaylords, lunch at The Tea Room, yogurt at Orange Mango on Dickson St. and a stop by Seth and Chelsea's new house!

Rachel and Ben's wedding was at 3pm in Alma. Thankfully the 80% chance of rain stayed away and it was SUNNY. Don't know about where you live, but Arkansas has been crazy.

A few party pics from the wedding.
Beautiful Magnolias
It doesn't get any better than a white tent among a few acres... or in this case two tents! They made sure this wedding was going to happen rain or shine! It was perfect.

We seem to meet up at weddings these days! Me, Jessica, Ashley Dee
Mr. & Mrs. Kirksey's First Dance
Love my Kappa Sisters!
Maid-of-Honor Amanda, Casey, Me, Jessica, Ashley Dee

Amanda and Jessica's Photo Shoot!
Father Daughter Dance. Rachel was absolutely stunning and glowing more than any Bride I have ever seen. Her happiness was written all over her face!
Their photographer and friend, Will Flowers just posted this "picture of the day" and I had to share it. Such a beautiful, fun-loving couple. The Lord definitely sent these two a sunny day when the rest of the state was surrounded in storms. It was gorgeous; as were they. Congratulations you two, I wish you all the love and happiness there is.

Bachelorette Fun Downtown

Well folks, May is here. For me that means wedding season has begun!!! I am invited to six weddings and in one all in May. So I have a feeling you will get an array of blog posts surrounding weddings.

Thursday night, I celebrate Miss Jenna Lands (next-to-last) night as a single lady! A group of about 20 girls kicked off the Bachelorette Party and Lingerie shower at Big Whiskey's in downtown Little Rock. We headed to Willy D's piano bar to sing and dance after. It was so much fun catching up with girls from high school, old friends, and making many new ones.

This is the only picture I got of me and the now MRS. MAY. I was going to debut my new camera this night, sadly the memory card was in my old camera that I left at home. So here's to Jenna's marriage and the iPhone saving the night.
Love you Jenna! So happy for you and Jay. I wish you all of the best and can't wait for you to move back to Little Rock from the "windy" city.
