Hot Springs Wedding

If you are a follower of the blog and/or twitter, you know I recently worked a wedding in Hot Springs! Since I just finished featuring the wedding on Young Designs, I thought I would post a link to it here, for those of you that just follow this blog. If you have time hope over {here} and check out the Lakeside Escape real wedding! It was a gorgeous location! And definitely one that a lot of time and energy was put into over the last 6-7 months! When I was slacking on "my" blog- posts, I was probably working on this. :) So. Much. Joy. from it!

Enjoy!

Make A Difference

This poem was in an email I received earlier today. I thought I would share it with you all. It is so simple, yet some of these "little things" I catch myself forgetting to do while caught up in the daily routine.

How Many People Does It Take To Make A Difference?

ONE

One song can spark a moment

One flower can wake the dream

One tree can start a forest

One bird can herald spring

One smile begins a friendship

One handclasp lifts a soul

One star can guide a ship at sea

One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation

One sunbeam lights a room

One candle wipes out darkness

One laugh will conquer gloom

One step must start each journey

One word must start a prayer

One hope will raise our spirits

One touch can show you care

One voice can speak with wisdom

One heart can know what's true

One life can make a difference

That difference starts with you.

Fall is in the Air

Bye Bye September, Hello October!!!

Here in Arkansas, Fall is in the Air.
It won't be long until the roads look like this.
Cool air has come in, and my sweatshirts are out again.

Tonight was perfection in it's simplest form. Every now and then you need "me" time.
I grabbed my new favorite, Pumpkin Spice Frappe' from Starbucks

Curled up with a blanket and my laptop
Had a much needed date with Google Reader, and caught up on reading many blog posts over the last few weeks/months. I had 705 and I am glad to say I now have 253!

I see another night like tonight in my future. Which is A- okay.

I love blogs primarily for Inspiration.
As a colleague once mentioned, Inspiration truly can be found anywhere and everywhere.

For me: Blogs are one of those places!

I have many blog favorites that I read, and get ideas from that aren't wedding blogs.
What are your favorite blogs right now??
Cooking, Personal, Design, Fashion
You name it.
Leave me a link, in the comment section, so that I can find them!

Oh and I can't forget what I was watching the past 4 hours...Gossip Girl Season 1.

I am becoming a quick fan! {Which probably isn't the best thing} ha

Runway For A Cause

Thursday, my mother and I attended AY Magazine's Runway For A Cause at the Clear Channel Metroplex Event Center.

Baptist Health and the Promenade at Chenal presented the runway show to fund the Baptist Health Nurse Navigator program designed to promote breast cancer awareness and prevention among women. It also assists in funding the CARTI Radiation Therapy Institute, Recovery Program, and Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS.

After the fun luncheon, breast cancer survivors are models for the runway show. They were able to wear top pieces from area stores in Little Rock including: Dillard's, Barbara Graves, Companions, Scarlet, Fletcher & Bensky Furs, Proposals, New Traditions, Feinstein's, Beyond Cotton, and B. Barnett. The ladies did such a good job.

Three of our friends were in the show.
Mrs. Karen (far left)
Mrs. Janella
Mrs. Vicki
All the survivors
Mrs. Janella , Mrs. Vicki, and Mrs. Karen all with their signs.
I graduated high school with all three of their daughters.
One of my best friends Lacey's mom is Mrs. Vicki. She just completed her second round of chemo and has 4 more to go through right now. She is doing such a great job. Please keep her and all of the ladies fighting breast cancer in your prayers!

Love you!
Loved seeing Emily and Katherine at the Runway show. Here we are with their mom, Mrs. Janella. She did such a fabulous job strutting her stuff :)
If you want to help with the fight against breast cancer, the Race for the Cure will be in Little Rock in October!! Sign up here!

Update

Since Labor Day weekend, two main things have occupied my mind and they both had to do with Young Designs!!

I have been blessed to have a wonderful September, in the business department of life, and it included these two weddings the last two weekends.

Two of our biggest weddings back-to-back! So. Much. Fun.
Hopefully that will explain my absence!

I still am loving what I do, and I consider myself very lucky that I am able to pursue what I love doing. Here is a sneak peak at where I have been hiding....

The Shelton/Linden Wedding occurred September 11 in Little Rock.
It was such a fun night featuring one of my favorite bands, Tragikaly White.
{For More Pictures: Check out the Young Designs Facebook page}

Then Thursday-Sunday I made home in Hot Springs, Arkansas working at this beautiful residence; turning a back yard in to an elegant affair that many will treasure. Hot Springs is such a wonderful town and I loved working the Nelson/Arnold wedding right on Lake Hamilton.

It included some of my favorite elements including this vintage lounge area.

For more pictures and write-ups on these two weddings; Follow Young Designs blog {here} and they will be up in the next few days.

Other life news: The HOGS are ranked #10 in country {football of course} and will play #1 Alabama in Fayetteville this weekend! I am sending my parents to cheer them on, while I work a wedding in Little Rock. Of course, I had to force them to want to go to the game, {sarcasm for those of you who don't know my family}. Hog fans that are lucky enough to be there, cheer loud for the entire state!!!

Looking forward to a tip-top wedding this weekend in Central Arkansas. Then...Family Reunion 2010 #2 occurs outside of Memphis. Trust me, you'll want to come back for the recaps. Our family is so much fun and very entertaining! Can't wait to see them!!

Hope Everyone has a safe and wonderful week!

Congrats Mel!

Another friend has said "Yes" to her man!!! So we had to celebrate with a girls dinner at Loca Luna last week! Natalie, Melissa, and I had the best time celebrating and catching up over dinner. I have missed these two. Even though we are all in the same town, our schedules don't always match up. Luckily it did this evening and we had a blast!!!
Melissa is engaged and will marry her man, Taylor next year in Texarkana!
Congrats you two!

We started the night off with a few presents to the bride-to-be. She was super excited to get the knot magazine from Natalie.

Then we treated ourselves to a wonderful dinner!
Our food looked so good- we had to take a picture. ha
Love you girls and had a blast with you! We need to have more of those nights, I do believe!

Also, if you are in the Central Arkansas area and haven't been to Loca Luna, it is one of my favs. Definitely try it out!

Labor Day Weekend: Post 2

Monday night we had all of the Maumelle "Whitt's" over to our house for dinner!
Notice we all have a tan from Sunday on the Lake!! Hallelujah

Monday was such a wonderful day. I got organized. ha For those of you who know me super well...my room is completely clean- all clothes put-up- room vacuumed - fresh sheets- everything dusted! I skipped shopping with my mom and sister because I HAD to make room time. Poor thing had been neglected the last few months. Anyway. I also did some cooking and made Carrot-Cake Cupcakes in celebration of Fall arriving!
The family came over for Aimee's last night in town. Here are some fun party pics:

Labor Day Weekend: Post 1

Labor Day weekend was so SO very much fun!

Saturday started with a good home cookin' breakfast at my grandparents house! Sweet Becky, my grandmother, made homemade biscuits and gravy with all the fixings! My Favorite!
While she was busy slaving away in the kitchen, sis and I had a lil' photo shoot. I am so glad she got to fly in from NYC for the weekend.
Prom Pose. Duh.
Love her! It is the first time we both have similar hair do's and I must say we look like sisters :)
Wearing RED in support of our team, the razorbacks!!
Our sweet grandfather.
Prank time: Locking Duane out of the house. Hope he learned not to be mean to me!
Cousin Heidi and her husband, Brian came in for the weekend. We were so glad to catch up with them Saturday morning. After breakfast, we headed to Northwest Arkansas with the rest of Little Rock.
Passed lots of cars like this {decked out in Hog gear} on the drive up!
Loved when this was our sight...
Hog Nation was ready- We made it in time to tailgate with tons of friends and family friends!
I loved that tailgating season has arrived. It is my favorite!
Walk Through/ Game Time

Hog Victory then we were off to Heber Springs to spend the day out on Greers with the family!
Happy Parents!
Brothers
My favorite quote from the weekend was my dad to uncle Al saying "Don't make me Anthony Leon you" when he mouthed off. It was hilarious. {If you aren't getting this- Leon is a defensive player for the hogs, and made a few awesome hits on Saturday!}

Testing out Uncle Al's Motorcycle Helmet on me.
Think it is a good look?
I think it is the #1 way to ensure boat safety.

Sis enjoying some Southern Sunshine!!
Swim time.
Mom took a family pic/action shot!
Daddy and his girls after a long relaxing and PERFECT lake day!

Momma and Meemaw enjoying the lake!

LOVE all of my family :) Such a perfect weekend getting to see all of my favorite people. AND getting some sunshine before temps drop.
Left my camera in the car during our "tailgating" time so sorry no pics :(
