Every Tuesday, I do a "trend" over on Young Designs Blog!!! I had to share today's trend with my readers just in case you don't follow Young Designs! Easter Weekend

Saturday:

I headed to Hot Springs for a meeting on the banks of Lake Hamilton for Young Designs. Since I was headed that way, my aunt and cousin kept me company. I dropped them off at Oaklawn while I attended my meeting. Then we headed back to Little Rock that afternoon.

I went with Hayley to the Saturday night Easter service at New Life Church in Little Rock. She loved the Easter service Friday night with most of the family, and told me I had to see it! It was wonderful. About our chase with life and in our relationship with Christ. Definitely got me in the Easter spirit and reminded me how blessed we are. No matter what we have done in the past or mistakes we make in the future, through faith and by grace, we are saved and loved.

After Church we headed over to the Rave Motion Pictures to see....

and my new crush after Saturday night... Liam Hemsworth.

On our way there, my cousin was on the phone and announced that she hoped their wasn't a lady bawling in our theater like two nights earlier. I questioned her and asked if I should expect to cry? She said "Oh Yes, You're going to Bawl." Oh how great I thought. But Yes- She wanted to see it again and I am always up for a good heart warming movie. (Plus wanted to see it). And for a girl that can't remember the last time she cried, I admit tears did roll down my face Saturday night. So take your tissue for this one. It was sad, but also a Nicholas Sparks hit.

As for my new crush....Should of found him in LA. Well then I googled him and discovered this tall and handsome Australian Actor is 19 years old and too young for me right now. Oh and he is dating Miley Cyrus- however he has a few older brothers....hmmm

Sunday:

Hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday with your family and friends!

Woke up sick : ( , so I didn't make it to sunrise service, which is our family's tradition. This made me even more grateful that I was able to go with Hayley on Saturday evening. We went over to my grandparents house for a feast in the afternoon! It was so yummy! Thankful for my family this Easter. We missed Aimee, who stayed in NYC and celebrated Easter with her Community Group from church. She made a delicious banana pudding that she sent us a picture of! Whether you were alone, with family, or friends, I hope you had the Easter Day that you wanted. Always remember that our Redeemer lives in each and every one of us, no matter our decisions in life; We are forgiven and loved all the time. Never forget that! Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Birthday Dinner

Friday night, a few friends went out to eat at Cajun's Wharf in Little Rock to celebrate mine and Natalie's Birthdays!!! Natalie turned 23 on March 26 and I am 22 for just a few more days until the 19th of April. So we met in the middle to celebrate : ) Plus it worked out perfectly to celebrate on the 2nd, since a few Fayetteville friends were heading home for Easter. We had such a fun dinner catching up, laughing and letting loose!

Jenna's Shower

March 28 I attended a Bridal Shower for Miss Jenna Lands!!! Jenna and I have known each other since the fourth grade when our sisters started seventh grade together. She is such a fun person to be around and is always laughing at something!!! She will be getting married this May in Little Rock, and was home last weekend from Chicago. A few of her close family and friends threw her a Bridal Shower at U.S. Pizza in North Little Rock! Jenna got lots of great presents to help her and Jay out when they first get married and move back to Arkansas!!!

2010 Wedding Season Begins!

March 27, was the first wedding of the year for me to attend. It was a gorgeous Little Rock wedding at Pulaski Heights Methodist Church. Following the ceremony, Mary and James' friends and family celebrated at Little Rock Country Club.

Something must have been in the water at the Kappa house when we lived there; because we have had more than any other pledge class get engaged/married in the last 2 years, and many more to come this year. {I must have been drinking coke during that time; not complaining, just sayin}.

Mary Webb is one of my pledge sisters from college, and I loved being able witness her big day! She is an absolute sweetheart, and one heck of a flag football player! Her wedding details were flawless and exactly what she wanted! I was also thrilled to reunite with some of my favorite girls from college. It really had been way to long since we had seen each other.

SOOO Excited for my Engaged Friend!!! This was the first time I had seen Amanda since Jared proposed to her on New Year's Eve! I am super happy for this girl! She will be one beautiful Bride in August!

Sweet Corey Tull, correction Corey Powell ; ) I was so happy she and Jacob made the trip from Rogers! AND she passed her big test the other day!!! SO Proud of the patience and determination this friend has!

A few of the Kappas being silly at the end of the Reception!!! We had to strike a pose for the KKG's that couldn't be there. I just love how fun memories come right back, when you are with your friends- No matter how long it has been since you've seen each other!!! Such a lovely evening. Congrats again Mary and James! I am so happy for the two of you!

Week in Memphis

March 22-27 I spent the week with the Rose's in Memphis!!! They were having a garage sale so I went over to give them another hand! Now if you haven't had a garage sale before, I will warn you...it is a lot of work. However, I think somehow I secretly love them. Yes I am odd. We worked away pricing items and cleaning out attics all week. It was a family affair (lol) and they adopt me every now and then! I just love this family and I enjoyed spending the week with them. We decided next time I come for the week, it will be a craft week! Right Mrs. Denise??

To be honest- we didn't look picture perfect for most of the week; so Chelsea and I grabbed a quick picture one night when we looked half-way decent! Love you friend! So glad we got to spend the week together! (Please don't hate me forever- that I talked you into spending your last spring break as a student doing a garage sale!!! Promise I will do a few bulletin boards in your classroom in exchange! Yes folks-I secretly love that too!)

AND....The highlight of our week.....Drum Roll Please.........

Yes. It. IS. TRUE. Memphis has just gotten an ANTHROPOLOGIE in the Saddle Creek Shopping Area!!! Hip-Hip-Hooray!!! Love this store. It is so inspiring and creative for the design eye, but full of goodies for everyone: soaps, dresses, candles, shirts, accessories, skirts, linens, purses, dishes, and lots more!

After our field trip, we got ready for the sale on Friday and Saturday!!! Here is a look so you can appreciate the time we put into this sale! It was very successful and I am so glad that it worked out for me to be in Memphis this week!

And now... My mother is ready for us to have our sale! So I am sure there will be another Garage Sale post soon, but this one will be in Arkansas!

Best Firehouse Subs Mural

One of my favorite restaurants is Firehouse Subs!!! (Hook & Ladder on Wheat is my suggestion if you need one). Something that I always notice when I go into a Firehouse Subs, is the Mural on the wall. Each is unique based on the town. Well this post is long overdue... because the best mural is on Maumelle Blvd.

If you are an Arkansas Razorback fan or have lived in Arkansas anytime over the last 20+ years, nine times out of ten, you have heard the voice of the man pictured below. Paul Eells. Mr. Eells was THE voice of the Razorbacks as well as a Sports anchor for Channel 7 News in Little Rock. He was a resident of Maumelle. I remember asking my mother if I could go say "Hi" to him at Kroger when I was a little girl because I thought he was a celebrity. Going "Trick-or-Treating" to the Eells' house with all my friends growing up because they always gave the best candy! He was one of the nicest men ever, and passed away in a car crash a few years ago; after finishing playing in a golf tournament in Fayetteville.
Shortly after he passed away, Maumelle opened a Firehouse Subs. Every time I walk in there, I can hear "Oh My! Touchdown Arkansas!" Mr. Eells' famous line which is written on the Big Dam Bridge in the mural, that connects Maumelle and Little Rock. In the sky, you will find two razorbacks, and in the flames....all of the SEC mascots (on fire haha, sorry non-Razorback readers). The fireman on the bottom right, with his headset on, is Paul Eells. Gotta Love tradition, and chain restaurants that connect locally with the communities that they are in! If you are ever in Maumelle, stop by Firehouse and check out the mural!
